The inverter is generally an inverter function, what is the inverter function? Just like when we go to climb a mountain from the foot of the mountain to the top of the mountain, the inverter is also a voltage conversion process, from low voltage to high voltage, DC to AC12v/24v to 110v/220v, why should it be like this?
We have learned physics and know that the standard voltage used in each country is different, such as 220v in China, 110v in North America and Japan, and the inverter is an inverter only when it reaches this mains voltage value.
Why does the inverter convert 12v/24v/48v/60v into 110v/220v?
The so-called off-grid inverter is generally connected to the battery, and the general lead-acid battery is a 12v 100a or 12v 150a, 12v 200a. So the DC voltage of the off-grid inverter depends on the voltage of the battery. When the DC voltage of your inverter is 12v, then you need a battery and you can connect it.
When you are a DC 24v inverter, you need two 12v batteries connected in series to increase the voltage.
And so on.
The scope of use of general inverters:
- Areas with unstable voltage or places with frequent power outages.
- Some friends need electricity (battery connected to the inverter) for business, especially barbecue, small fruit stalls, night snack stalls and other types.
- Places where the mains electricity is difficult to reach in remote mountainous areas
- When going camping, you need a place with lights.
- A place to charge laptops and mobile phones in the car.

The power frequency inverter is a DC/AC converter, which is designed with high-frequency pulse width modulation technology and microcomputer control technology, and converts the DC power of the battery pack into an AC power with stable output voltage and frequency.
And has a higher conversion efficiency (up to 80% or more at full load). At the same time, it has a strong non-linear load driving capability. The inverter power supply can also detect and monitor the input voltage, current and output voltage and current, so as to realize the function of guard-free maintenance
There are many application fields of power frequency inverters, such as the use of inverters in the aviation industry to provide frequency conversion from 1 to 400Hz, etc. Generally speaking, the input voltage is changed according to the needs of practical applications, which requires the use of inverters.
We will focus on the following inverter application areas for introduction:
- Industrial process control and applications such as switchgear, program logic control
- Telecommunications industry hub and wireless applications and other occasions
- Data center and computer room
- Emerging energy industries such as solar energy, wind power, fuel cells, etc. Different fields use different DC voltage inputs such as:
24VDC suitable for telecommunications, marine industry, solar…
- 48VDC and 60VDC are suitable for telecommunications fixed and mobile networks, IT industry…
110VDC and 220VDC suitable for industrial, electric, railway…
We divide inverters into two product ranges and two technologies:
- Independent frame or single inverter, the application range is from hundreds of VA to 60KVA (single-phase or three-phase). In this field, we can see two technologies–SCR/GTO technology and switch mode PWM technology applied in Among the latest products:
SCR/GTO technology used in high power systems > 3 to 5kVA PWM technology used in small inverters 2 or 3 kVA
- Parallel power frequency inverters use the concept of switching mode PWM technology
The latest generation uses PWM technology and various topologies from different manufacturers. Paralleling means communication or control between modules, which allows:
Realize true load sharing between inverter modules
- Maintain the synchronization of each parallel module and maintain the stability of output voltage and frequency
Application field
It can be used in imported electrical appliances that require AC110V, such as ships, heavy trucks, industrial equipment, air conditioners, televisions, cash registers, refrigerators, washing machines, computers, and electric tools.
Characteristics of power frequency inverter
- High load capacity
- Quiet and efficient operation
- Front panel LED indicators and adjustable switch selector
- Optional lead-acid battery, gel battery, or glass fiber separator (AGM) battery
- Three-stage charging (high current charging, absorbing, and float charging), thus improving the performance
- 70A automatic 3-stage battery charger
- Backup power with quick switch (grid to battery and battery grid)
- The lower idle current (less than 1 watt) can be consistent with the engine, saving energy when there is no load.
- Low power, overload, high power, over-temperature protection circuit
- Durable lifespan under extreme environmental conditions
- High overload capacity can bear a relatively large load, and can stably handle circuit boards under overload conditions. The coating can protect them from corrosion and improve service life and load reliability.
- Durable powder coating, corrosion-resistant steel chassis, with waterproof function
Precautions for use and maintenance
- The UPS operating environment should be well ventilated to facilitate heat dissipation and keep the environment clean.
- Do not carry inductive loads, such as banknote counters, fluorescent lamps, air conditioners, etc., to avoid damage.
- It is best to control the output load of UPS at about 60%, and the reliability is the highest.
- If the UPS load is too light (such as 1000VA UPS with 100VA load), it may cause deep discharge of the battery, which will reduce the service life of the battery and should be avoided as much as possible.
- Proper discharge is helpful to the activation of the battery. If the mains power is not used for a long time, the mains power should be artificially cut off every three months and discharged once with a UPS load, which can prolong the service life of the battery.
- For most small UPS, turn on the UPS after going to work, avoid starting with load when starting up, and turn off the UPS when you are off work; for the UPS in the network room, since most networks work 24 hours, the UPS must also run around the clock.
- After the UPS is discharged, it should be charged in time to avoid damage to the battery due to excessive self-discharge.
